Prime Video Shares First Tease

The second season of Prime Video’s Invincible really put everyone through the wringer, especially Mark. Between reuniting with his dad and leaning he’s got a half brother, getting a beatdown from Viltrumite warrior Anissa, and then accidentally beating Angstrom Levy to death, he was really feeling the pressure the last time around. After all that, there’s really only one thing he can do: lock the hell in.

Invincible’s third season will arrive on February 6, and its first look is meta on many levels. Like season two’s first look, it sees Mark hanging with Cecil and catching a bunch of criticism for how things went last time we saw him. Mark (and by extension, the show’s creators) knows the clock is ticking, but before he can repeat his “animation’s hard, we’re doing the work” bit, Cecil makes it clear he ain’t having it. This time around, he’s gonna whip Mark into proper shape so he can be the hero Earth needs when the Viltrumites and other threats come and threaten Earth again. (And, y’know, so the show can quit being roasted online.)

So what does that mean? For Mark, it means more training and getting his cool blue-and-black suit from the comics (which Prime Video revealed back in July). As for Invincible the show, it’s going back to its old self: the entire eight-episode season will run without a midseason break of any kind. After the first trio of episodes air, a new one will run every week on Prime Video until March 13.

As for when we get our first proper look at the new season with a full trailer? Prime Video says to be patient, at least for now.
